Hi, I’m Caitlyn. Welcome!

I practice mainly from a psychodynamic/psychoanalytic lens. This means I believe each individual holds a collection of core beliefs, protective mechanisms, and ingrained assumptions that have been formed throughout their life experiences. Through insight and empathic understanding we are better able to assess and make changes to various unhelpful thoughts and patterns of behavior.

I also have training in and integrate Emotionally-Focused Therapy (EFT), the Gottman Method, and EMDR (eye-movement desensitization and reprocessing therapy). I am currently participating in the Integrative Psychoanalytic Couple Therapy certificate program through the Institute of Clinical Social Work. Additionally, I have a background in art and enjoy incorporating art techniques into the therapeutic space.

My Approach

I view therapy as collaborative exploration, working from the belief that “it takes two to know one.” I provide a steady presence in my attentiveness, reflections, and responses while we explore and make meaning of your internal experience together. I approach sessions with warmth, openness, and curiosity. It’s important for me to create a nonjudgmental and inviting space so that you feel comfortable showing up exactly as you are.
